Frontline sales positions to witness AI-powered bots assisting sales personnel

AI-assisted robots have been assisting chat operations in customer service desks and have proven their abilities. It is now the turn of frontline sales to receive AI assistance. Talla, the Cambridge based HR Chatbot company has announced its foray into sales.

The company is best known for HR chatbots that helped induct workers with the right kind of induction training, helping in improving productivity. The bots are powered by machine learning and natural language processing that makes the bot a lot more intuitive and with high-speed response time. The company announced the launch of bots that learned from stock queries and responses of customers sales personnel to make the connection and learn intelligently. This machine learning and deep learning subsets of AI have rendered the bots powerful and equipped to handle queries with accuracy at greater speed.

The CEO of Talla, Rob May explained that the chatbots will assist frontline sales personnel to handle queries faster. This way sales personnel will no longer have to check back on specs and information from manuals to be able to reply to a query with authority. This will be an on-demand ready reckoner that will have all the answers to every conceivable question of a customer. Additionally, the bot will also prompt the sales executive to permit the completion of the next level in the interaction. This will help to keep all the boxes ticked during the interaction without compromising on the quality of the interaction or missing out any aspect.

As businesses are set to witness a workforce in the future that comprises humans and machines working side by side, this is a milestone. Many banks rely on AI assisted chatbots for handling the first level of queries in customer-facing operations, and it was only a question of time before bots came into sales.  As the machines will get better by learning, the quality of the assistance will improve.  Machines are better listeners than humans and will be able to objectively piece together the queries and come up with the appropriate data and information that is sought.
